Personally if all possible you would always have the ISP provided device to act as a bridge and just hand over the public IPs to your own router. Now this maybe a tricky option because you may need to turn off DHCP on you TP-Link as it sounds the ISP device is acting as you DHCP server. If you can't change the ISP provided device to bridge mode, then change your TP-Link to bridge mode. If possible and if the ISP gave you a router, you try to change it to bridge mode so that it hands off the Public IP address to your TP-Link. It's more than likely warning you of the Double NAT that it's detecting.ĭo you know if the ISP provided device is a router or modem? To me it sounds whatever they provided you is acting as your router.
